The Paleo Diet  is also know as the Paleolithic Diet. It is a diet that attempts to recreate the eating habits of humans during the Paleolithic or Stone Age era.   It is also referred to as the "Stone Age Diet", "Cave Man Diet" or the "Hunter-Gatherer Diet".  The belief is that for millions of years, humans and their relatives have eaten meat, fish, fowl and the leaves, roots and fruits of many plants, and for this reason, this is how we should be eating today.

While the theory of Paleolithic eating is a very interesting one, Eat Stop Eat is not confined to any style of eating.   Many people following Eat Stop Eat have seen excellent weight loss results without following a Paleolithic eating style.  At the same time many people have also seen excellent results combining Paleo Diet style Eating with Eat Stop Eat.
